ICT as an informative tool
Information and communication Technology is considered as a key tool for supporting teachers who adopt differentiated instructions, since it gives students with different learning profile. It also gives opportunity to work at the same level, at the same time through interaction.
I think in the 21st century, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) is very important as many people recognized ICTs as a catalysts for change in working conditions, handling and exchanging information, teaching methods, learning approaches, scientific research and in accessing information communication technologies. In this digital era, the use of ICT in the classroom is important for students to provide opportunities to learn and apply 21st-century skills. Moreover, ICT improves teaching and learning and its importance for teachers in performing their role of creators of pedagogical environments. ICT helps the teacher to present his or her teachings style attractively
Information and communication technology consists of various tools and systems that can be exploited by capable and creative teachers to improve teaching and learning situations. Lim Tay (2003) classification of ICT tools as:
Informative tools
2. Communicative tools
3. Constructive tools
4. Co-constructive tools
5. Situating tools
ICT as an informative tool.
It is defined as an application which provides vast repositories of information/content to learners activity including sound, movie, graphics and text.
Through the use of ICT, it provides students with information and references whenever needed in which they can manipulate and construct their own learning. Learners get to integrate relevant ideas enhancing critical thinking. Since informative tools give vast repositories of information, I realized that we have to keep in mind the following points to get authentic information:
1. As a user we
should know how to evaluate the resources from the different sources. We have
to use the knowledge of web evaluation when we come across vast repositories of
information.
2. As a teacher
one should guide the students to make sense of what information they are using.
For example, ask the students to avoid plagiarism/use their own words.
3. The lesson on
informative tool enriched me with the ideas to evaluate and analyze the
information.

very effective and conducive. Informative tools are application which
provides vast amounts of information in various formats like text, sounds,
image or video. A students reading a text or information, listening to the
audio, simply looking at the image and making meaning out of it or watching a
video lesson are all receiving information on the particular topic but through
means based on their choice.
Text
Text is used to create words, letters, sentences and provide information to the learners. Through text, it helps record the history and learners can access it anytime.
Image
Through pictures it conveys a lot of meanings and learners can get information fro the image as well.

Sound
Information can be shared through the use of music, speech and narration especially it would help those who are visually impaired.
Video
Displaying moving pictures with sounds that will also provide information.
Animation
Graphics that create illusions of motions.
Graphics
It includes all the video, sounds, images and text. all these tools would help make learning fun and learners would retain for a longer period.
