Ict as co-constructive tool

 

I also learned about another important function of computer to teach the students that is IT as a constructive tools. In this we learned about the definition of co-constructive, the importance of co-constructive tool, and some of the examples of co-constructive.

What?

Applications that support the construction of knowledge through a shared understanding, share ideas and thought collaborative and reconstruction of the knowledge sharing additional knowledge ideas from different user.

A tools that are used for general purpose to manipulate information, construct their own knowledge or visualize students understanding.

So co-constructive tool means an approach, where it emphasis on collaboration, and partnership working. It also includes the international process such as cooperation and coordination. So in simple word it is a concept that students can use to help them learn from others and expend their knowledge.

Some of the examples of co-constructive are google docs (docs.google.come), electronic whiteboard, blogs and wikis and discussion forum like(pce.edu.bt). Furthermore I also knew that co-construction enable students to develop the skills and confidence to become highly effective independent learners, taking ownership of their own learning, including  content, sequencing, mode of delivery and assessment. 

Why Co-constructive tool

• The communication and dialogue between the teacher and learners that focuses on learning is one-way methods for co-construction.
•  Through co-construction, the students will able to explore and share their views in term of learning. 
• They can able to build a relationship between society to have effective communication and learning. 
• The co-construction is important for developing creative partnerships within the classroom as well as societies.
• Students can use constructive tools to work cooperatively and construct a shared understanding of new knowledge.                                                                                                                                                                Willams (2000, p. 197)

It is important to use co-constructive tool so that it helps student to edit their work and information together in a group, which makes construction of knowledge easy, communicate with large variety of information like databases, text and graphics enhancing collaborative learning environment. It also helps students to get engaged in high-level learning process and helps to find and solve the problems. Co-constructive is also important for developing and creating partnerships within class. So to have cooperation and collaboration in the classroom I think the use of co-constructive tools is must.
