ICT as Communicative Tool

ICT as Communictive tool

ICT as a communicative tool is plate forms that provide great opportunity for the teachers and learners to interact online without having to meet face to face. It help teachers to connect with other teachers (colleagues), students to connect with their peers and students to connect with teachers to keep in touch and exchange the ideas and learning materials. Communication tools can include:

·         smartphones

·         laptops

·         tablets

 social networks

·         forums

·         messenger apps

·         email

·         blogs

·         tracking software

Email, Skype, we chat, messenger, telegram, whatsapp, google classroom, Vle, bolg, video conferencing and zoom meetings are the frequently used tools among us. The use of Communicative tool in education increased in Bhutan since the outbreak of the Covid19 in our country. The schools and colleges were closed and the teaching and learning are happening online with the use of communicative tools. All the teachers and students were made almost compulsory to use smart phones and other electronic gadgets.

From all the communicative tools used as a means of teaching and learning, I feel more comfortable using Virtual Learning Environment (VLE), gmail, We Chat and to learn and discuss.

Blog: A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries. It is the new communicative tool that I am learning to use recently.

G mail: Gmail is a free Web-based e-mail service currently being tested at Google that provides users with a gigabyte of storage for messages and provides the ability to search for specific messages. I use this tool to submit my assignments, share notes, soft copy of text books and other reading materials.

Virtual learning Environment: A virtual learning environment (VLE) in educational technology is a Web-based platform for the digital aspects of courses of study, usually within educational institutions. They present resources, activities and interactions within a course structure and provide for the different stages of assessment. VLEs also usually report on participation. I use VLE to learn and get access to all the courses.

We Chat: WeChat is a Chinese multi-purpose messaging, social media and mobile payment app developed by Tencent. It was first released in 2011, and became one of the world's largest standalone mobile apps in 2018, with over 1 billion monthly active users. I use this tool for all modules for information and communicating with friends.

Zoom meeting: it’s a new feature I got learn from online classes. I feel it’s an effective way to learn and communicate with others
Although, communicative tool offers a lots of advantages, if misused can caused a lot of chaos.
